A/N (2): I got the idea for this while I was in the shower..of all places lol
Its eight in the morning when Koki’s alarm goes off, groaning he rolls over and buries his face in his pillow...not wanting to get up, not so much because its going to be hard pretending to be friendly with Maru, but because Kame makes him feel stronger. He knows he won’t be able to near Kame for most of the day as he has to leave right after dance practice to work on his drama and Koki’s worried about what could happen while Kame’s not near. Kame, meanwhile, rolls over and shuts the annoying alarm off. He sits up, stretches and shakes Koki’s shoulder....
Yawning he says.. “Koki? Time to get up. We have work today remember?”
“ Can’t we just call in sick or something?” Koki asks knowing full well Kame just can’t call in since he still has to finish filming.
“ No, we can’t Koki. Besides, you don’t have a fever, level with me already. What’s the real reason?” Kame asks gently.
“ I’m afraid Kazu. Afraid of what might happen while you’re not going to be there after dance practice.” Koki says.
“ What do you mean? About giving in taking more than you should?”
“ No, I couldn’t bear the thought of doing that love. I want to go forwards...not backwards. But I still have those unpredictable mood swings I told Jin about and like I told Jin I only have some measure of control when you’re near, and that’s only because I would never forgive myself if ever raised a hand to you. You know, I still fear being alone to a certain extent and when I’m alone or with others people I feel like my sadness is going to crush me to death and...” He runs a shaking hand through his hair and falls silent.
“ And what, baby?” Kame asks.
“ The only time I feel safe from that is when I’m with you. Ya know..I feel like my grandfather did abandon me in a way. He was the one who always understood me, the one person outside you guys that I could tell anything and everything to without fear of being ridiculed or disowned. I just wish he was here Kame, I miss him so much...” Koki finally broke down and shed the much long awaited tears over his grandfather’s death.
Kame laid back down and wrapped his arms around his lover as Koki finally confronted the fact that his beloved grandfather would indeed never be coming back, that there will be no more talks, no more birthday and holiday visits and that he would no longer be coming to see his grandson on stage anymore doing what he loves.
“ It will be alright Koki, just give yourself time. You can take as long as you like to get over his death. You can tell me everything you can about him and every story you can think of, I will listen with interest. Just remember he was always proud of you no matter what you did. He loved you and your the rest of your family very much. I remember the first time I met him...you know what he said to me?”
Pulling his head up and grabbing some tissue, Koki clears his nose and asks...“No, what?”
“ He said to me: -“ Do me a favor and take care of my favorite grandson. Koki’s a strong kid but even the strongest of us all breakdown eventually.” - He had a feeling that your fame and fortune would hard on you at first, so he asked me to watch over you..though I’m the youngest. He always put your well being before his own and he wanted to make sure that someone would always be there for you when he eventually pass on the next life.” Kame finishes.
“ When did he tell you this?” Koki asks astonished
“ Shortly after we as a group started to get along and after me and you became friends. It was when I first slept over at your place. You remember, we had to stay with your grandparents because the rest of your family were going out of town and we couldn’t go because of work and school.”
“ Oh yeah...where was I when he told you this Kame?”
“ If memory serves...the shower I believe. Feel any better?”
“ Yes, I do. Thank you Kame.” Koki said and he meant it, he gave Kame light kiss before saying, “ I wish the shaking would stop already...its irritating.” he was practically yelling in frustration.
“ The shaking should subside within the next week or so...here..” he hands Koki the last little bit of the Heroine. “ This is the last dose of this you have left, seeing as you dumped about 99% of it down the toilet.”
Koki nods and pulls the belt from his jeans, wraps it around his arm tightly and injects the final dose into his body. Feeling the drug in his veins almost made him vomit..he felt so disgusted, he caps the needle and tosses it into the trash can beside his bed.
“ Now lets get to work. Oh and if it becomes too much don’t hesitate to message me. I may or not respond right away as do I have filming but I will definitely write back.”
“ Okay Kame.”
With that Koki finally gets out of bed and with Kame in tow, they head to the bathroom for a quick shower before heading off to work.
Later on Koki is sitting down in the corner sweaty, tired and panting so hard it feels like he just ran 10 klm. He stretches out and while he’s waiting for Kame to get back from bathroom, Maru walks over and asks...
“ Can we talk, Koki? Its important.”
“.....” Koki says nothing still pointedly ignoring Maru’s existence seeing as Maru still hasn’t stopped blaming Kame.
“ Koki, please just talk to me. That’s all I...” He starts but Koki cuts him.
“ Leave me alone, Yuichi. Its not the right time.” Koki says feeling the onset of one of his major mood swings...-"If Kame don’t hurry up”...- Koki thought to himself.
“ Please Koki.” Maru begs.
“ We don’t have anything to talk about right now. Have you stopped blaming Kame for my “candy” addiction? Have you stopped calling him names?” Koki asks.
“ Yes, I have.” Maru lied, or tried to but Jin called him out just as Kame walks through the door.
“ Don’t lie to the guy, Maru. Just this morning over coffee you said this whole thing was Kame’s fault, that Kame’s feelings for Koki would cloud his judgment and when Junno stuck for him you called him an over rated princess.” Jin states as Kame rolled his eyes.
“ Like I said until you can honestly tell me that you have stopped doing both, we have nothing to talk about.” Koki said in a low voice getting agitated.
Noticing Koki’s agitation with Maru, Kame motions for Koki to stand up and follow him to the other side of the room. Kame sits in front of the large mirror with Koki situated between his legs, where he starts rubbing the tension from Koki’s neck and nips at his ear making him shiver delightfully as a smile creeps across Koki’s face.
“ Hey, what did I tell you?” he whispers in his lover’s ear as he wraps his arms around Koki’s abdomen and pulls him closer.
“ Yeah I know Kame. Just right now I can’t do it and he’s pushing me to listen him when I don’t feel like I’m ready. Oh and I love you Kame.” Koki says.
“ Its okay, you can talk about it when you’re ready. I love you too.” Kame finishes just as Maru walks up to the pair.
“ Now since you’re gaur..Kame’s back, now can we talk?” He asks for the third time that afternoon.
“ Maru, just don’t alright. He’s not ready to talk to you right now, when Koki’s ready he’ll contact you but not until then. Now could you please leave my boyfriend alone until he’s feels up to dealing with you.” Kame requests.
“ Sure I’ll wait...Boyfriend? You mean you...Kame how could you such a thing to him? This is the last he needs right now.” Maru spluttered as Koki and Kame stand to face Maru.
“ Yes, he did. You’re wrong Maru, This is EXACTLY what I need right now. I’m in love with Kame just as Kame is with me. I was the one that confessed first and we know the timing is bad, alright. Don’t stand there and act like you know what will and will not help me, you’re not Kazuya...stop acting like it!” he yells.
“ Koki’s right, Maru. So what he confessed to me and so what I decided to return the confession. It won’t inter fear with his treatment, which is largely left up to him, nor my judgment on how to decide if his decisions about his treatment are the right ones or not. If he was in your hands...he’s be dead right now!” Kame says in Koki’s defense.
“ Oh you mean like how he almost died while he was on the phone with Jin? You’re the one that almost killed him!” Maru retaliates as Ueda comes over to calm his own lover down.
“ MARU!!” Jin and Junno shout at the same time.
“ Why you...” Koki raises his fist but Kame steps in his way, not being able to hit Kame he lowers his arm while Kame just walks out the door.
“ KAZU!!” Koki calls and goes after his lover.
With Koki and Kame gone the others round on Maru...
“ Idiot! Why did you say that? How could you say that?” Junno asks in disbelieve.
“ Kame wasn’t the one that caused that! KOKI chose to cut back as much as he did, KOKI was the one that was at fault. All this is KOKI’S fault...not Kame’s.” Jin says.
“ You know how painful that incident is to all of us, not just those two. Maru you need to stop putting the blame where it doesn’t need to be. Put yourself in Koki’s and Kame’s position..just for a minute..and I was the one with the drug problem and you were the one that was trying to help me; and Koki was the one blaming you for taking me to the club where Koki was introduced to the guy who became his dealer.” Ueda finishes on a calmer tone than the other two.
Maru does as he’s told and realization hits him harder now than it did when he realized his feelings for Ueda. Maru realizes that he would feel the same way about this that Koki does and that he would be as much of a guard dog towards Ueda that Kame is to Koki.
“ Oh my god...I am such an idiot! Not to mention and insensitive jackass to boot. I feel like the worst man alive at the moment.” He puts head in hands as Ueda smiles.
“ We all blamed Kame in the beginning, but after we imagined our selves in their place, and after we read up on Koki’s addiction we understood how wrong we were and that Koki’s the one who chose to do the drugs, Koki’s the one who chose to cut back so much and caused himself to have a heart attack...not Kame.” Ueda said as
“ Yeah Kame was going to go the normal treatment route and cut him back a little at a time but Koki was the one that had to be stubborn and cut back too much too soon.” Jin says.
Meanwhile Koki finally catches up to Kame and pulls him into a nearby storage room that no one uses.“ I’m sorry Kame. It wasn’t your fault, I should’ve listened when you tried to warn me about the consequences of cutting back like I did. Please don’t blame yourself..” Koki pleads and tightens his hold on Kame.
“ I know Koki.” Kame turns around in Koki’s embrace to face him, “ Its just I didn’t need to be reminded that I almost lost you a two days ago, not because it would break my track record but because I love you and I don’t want to know what it would be like living this life without you. I won’t lie and say that what Maru said didn’t hurt..because it did.” he says and hugs Koki back.
“ I didn’t want to leave you either, baby.” Koki says, never breaking the hug but pulling back a little to kiss Kame’s lips.
“ Hey Koki, you don’t think I’m an over-rated princess..do you?” Kame asks, making sure to bullet Koki with puppy eyes.
“ Hmm...I think you’re one helluva tease, sexy, cute, hot, a conniving bastard who knows how to get his way and many other things besides...but I don’t think of you as an over-rated princess..never.” Koki says with a smile and slight tease to his voice. “ Now lock the door.” he whispers seductively in Kame’s ear making Kame shiver in an anticipation as he shows Kame something from his inside pocket.
Kame does just that and both give in to their urges. Ten minutes later they walk back into the practice room. Maru sees them and immediately gives them his deepest bow and says...
“ Koki, Kame, words can’t begin to accurately express how sorry I am for the things I’ve said and done. I have finally stopped blaming Kame for things that I now understand aren’t his fault and that you, Koki, were the one that made the choices that you did..not Kame. I shouldn’t have brought that incident from the other day, it was painful for all of us but mostly for you, Kame. You don’t have to believe me nor do you have to forgive me. But, I promise to wait until you are ready to hear what I have to say Koki and I will stop trying to force you to talk too me.” Maru finishes, not daring to look up at his two best friends.
Koki and Kame were just standing there dumbfounded at Maru’s abrupt change in behavior. Kame was the first one to recover and pulled Maru to his feet and said..
“ It will take time but I think we both will be able to forgive you. But I don’t get it, what’s with attitude adjustment all of a sudden?” Kame was as confused as Koki.
“ Oh nothing much really...just a little image therapy that’s all.” Ueda said as they returned to dance practice.
After practice Kame left for his drama filming, much to Koki’s great discomfort. Poor Koki couldn’t concentrate on anything without Ueda or Jin having to call him back to reality. He mostly kept to himself, he was jumpy, nervous and he just couldn’t settle down so he sent a message to Kame telling him what was up and how much he missed him. Ten minutes later when Kame had found five minute break, he did as he promised and messaged his love back with words of comfort and courage, and to tell him that they managed to wrap up the last scene early. To say that Koki wasn’t happy would be an understatement, after that he manages to make it through the rest of his work day, though he was still shivering like mad. Something that Ryo didn’t fail to notice when him and Pi stopped in to see Jin, but he acted like he didn’t notice and never asked about it nor did Pi.
At five o’clock Koki heads out to meet Kame after his meeting, running into Kame on the way.
“ Hey I was just coming to fetch you, done early?” Koki asks.
“ Yep. I just hope the fans like it.” Kame answers slightly unsure.
“ I’m sure they will. Ready to go?”
“Sure, my place or your’s?” Kame asks.
“ Your’s is fine.” Koki says as they head to Kame’s apartment, stopping at Koki’s only long enough so he could grab some clothes and take care of his zoo.
Once they get back to Kame’s place, they kick off their shoes and start making dinner. After supper they clean up the mess and go relax on the couch in front of the tv. The movie they were watching ends and after the commercial break, Maru’s drama comes on causing Kame to reach for the remote..only Koki stops him.
“ Its okay, we can watch it if you want I don’t mind. I’m over him, I happy with you now and I hope to be this way with you for the rest of my life.” he says and takes the remote from his boyfriend.
Kame smiles at Koki and cuddles to his side as the program starts, midway through Kame says...
“ I’m proud of you Koki, for making as much progress as you have with not just your grandfather’s death but with your rehab as well.”
“ Thanks Kame, I’m proud of myself too.” He said and kissed the top of Kame’s head.
A few hours later as they are getting ready for bed, Kame comes up with a new idea..
“ You know, Koki, we should really find you a safer addiction.” he says as they’re laying in bed
Koki props himself up on one elbow and places a hand on Kame’s waist, kisses him deeply and says...
“ I already found one.” he smiles and kisses Kame some more until Kame pulls back a little..
“ Really? What’s that?” he asks even though he knows the answer he wants to hear it from Koki anyway.
“ You.” Koki answers as he climbs on top of his partner and presses him to the mattress.
“ Good. Because I am addicted to you as well.” he says as runs his fingers lightly over the Koki’s arms and the needle marks.
They spend the whole night drowning in their addiction to each other’s bodies, their feelings and their touches.

But, I promise to wait until you are ready to hear what I have to say Koki and I will stop trying to force you to talk too me.” Maru finishes, not daring to look up at his two best friends.
Koki and Kame were just standing there dumbfounded at Maru’s abrupt change in behavior. Kame was the first one to recover and pulled Maru to his feet and said..
“ It will take time but I think we both will be able to forgive you. But I don’t get it, what’s with attitude adjustment all of a sudden?” Kame was as confused as Koki.
“ Oh nothing much really...just a little image therapy that’s all.” Ueda said as they returned to dance practice.
After practice Kame left for his drama filming, much to Koki’s great discomfort. Poor Koki couldn’t concentrate on anything without Ueda or Jin having to call him back to reality. He mostly kept to himself, he was jumpy, nervous and he just couldn’t settle down so he sent a message to Kame telling him what was up and how much he missed him. Ten minutes later when Kame had found five minute break, he did as he promised and messaged his love back with words of comfort and courage, and to tell him that they managed to wrap up the last scene early. To say that Koki wasn’t happy would be an understatement, after that he manages to make it through the rest of his work day, though he was still shivering like mad. Something that Ryo didn’t fail to notice when him and Pi stopped in to see Jin, but he acted like he didn’t notice and never asked about it nor did Pi.
At five o’clock Koki heads out to meet Kame after his meeting, running into Kame on the way.
“ Hey I was just coming to fetch you, done early?” Koki asks.
“ Yep. I just hope the fans like it.” Kame answers slightly unsure.
“ I’m sure they will. Ready to go?”
“Sure, my place or your’s?” Kame asks.
“ Your’s is fine.” Koki says as they head to Kame’s apartment, stopping at Koki’s only long enough so he could grab some clothes and take care of his zoo.
Once they get back to Kame’s place, they kick off their shoes and start making dinner. After supper they clean up the mess and go relax on the couch in front of the tv. The movie they were watching ends and after the commercial break, Maru’s drama comes on causing Kame to reach for the remote..only Koki stops him.
“ Its okay, we can watch it if you want I don’t mind. I’m over him, I happy with you now and I hope to be this way with you for the rest of my life.” he says and takes the remote from his boyfriend.
Kame smiles at Koki and cuddles to his side as the program starts, midway through Kame says...
“ I’m proud of you Koki, for making as much progress as you have with not just your grandfather’s death but with your rehab as well.”
“ Thanks Kame, I’m proud of myself too.” He said and kissed the top of Kame’s head.
A few hours later as they are getting ready for bed, Kame comes up with a new idea..
“ You know, Koki, we should really find you a safer addiction.” he says as they’re laying in bed
Koki props himself up on one elbow and places a hand on Kame’s waist, kisses him deeply and says...
“ I already found one.” he smiles and kisses Kame some more until Kame pulls back a little..
“ Really? What’s that?” he asks even though he knows the answer he wants to hear it from Koki anyway.
“ You.” Koki answers as he climbs on top of his partner and presses him to the mattress.
“ Good. Because I am addicted to you as well.” he says as runs his fingers lightly over the Koki’s arms and the needle marks.
They spend the whole night drowning in their addiction to each other’s bodies, their feelings and their touches.
