After two days of in tense fighting the Okinawa covent finally surrenders and excepts the terms laid down by Kame to allow each side to leave in peace with each other, granted he threatened to kill every last covent member but it was the best they were going to get. After reporting back to the Massu and putting the peace treaty on his desk they head back their rooms for some much needed rest.

Some six hours later Kame wakes to a loud knocking on his and Koki’s door....getting up Kame goes to see who decided to wake him...

“ Yes, Kusano, what is it?” He asks yawning.

“ I just came by to tell you that Massu is having a little party in honor of what you and Koki did for us, since we never would’ve gotten this far if Jun had not agreed to help us. Though I didn’t expect you to be a pendant bearer. Oh and Taipi wants a word with you before you guys leave tonight....apparently he wants to ask you stuff only you can answer.” He says with a slight shrug.

“ Okay, I’ll make sure to talk to him before I go..thanks Kusano.” Kame says as Kusano turns and leaves. Climbing back into bed he feels Koki pull him closer, his grip tighter than normal...it was a little too tight to be honest and it hurt.

“ Koki...you’re hurting me. Ease up a bit will you? Or you’re going to quite literally crush me to death.” Kame said as he felt all the air leave his body.

“ Oh my..I am so sorry, Kame!” He says, after waking up and realizing with a start that he really is. “ I was having that dream again and in the dream Maru had forced me to kill you, and I sat there hugging your life less corpse so tight that your body broke in my arms and I didn’t realize that I grabbed you in my sleep...I’m guessing no bed adventures for the next two days as punishment?” Koki asked.

“ You got that right. Holding me in a tight grip is one thing, honey, but damn near crushing me is another matter entirely.” Kame winces slightly as Koki rubs his rib cage. “ Oh and Massu is throwing a party in honor of what we did for him, and your human friend from the other night wants to speak to me before we go.”

“ Hmm..about what?” Koki asked still feeling bad that he almost, unintentionally, crushed his partner.

“ I don’t know, Kusano didn’t say.” Kame replies. “ What time is it anyway?” he asked Koki.

“ Half past ten in the morning, why?”

“ Because I’m hungry that’s why.”

“ So, go down into the city and get something to eat..while I go back to bed.” Koki yawns and attempts to roll over but Kame won’t let him..

“ Sorry, baby, but you can’t.” Kame says as he holds Koki in place.

“Why not?”

“Remember...you and Ueda have to watch the orphans this morning until Taipi and Ohno get back from getting food for them until Massu can figure out what to do with them.” Kame scolds but his tone is light.

Grumbling Koki gets out of bed and after a quick shower, they head off in their respective directions, Kame to the city to get breakfast at this quaint little family style eatery that one of the local hunters told him about and Koki to the underground tunnel that leads to where the orphans live at the back of the property. Needless to say that after spending time with human children again, it made both vampyres wish that they had children of their own.

On his way back from, in his opinion, one of the best breakfasts he ever had, he decides to do a little shopping. He thinks he should get something for Koki since Koki’s always doing things and buy things for him, he knows that the best gift he could give him is his smile but he wants to give him something more than that...but what he wasn’t too sure what to get until he walked by a store that sold men’s jewelery. As he passed the shop window he saw a sterling silver chain link bracelet with small skulls situated in every other link...he walks and tells clerk that he wants the bracelet in the window...

“ Are you sure? Its quite expensive.” The guy said, giving Kame’s appearence a once over...not knowing that despite Kame’s out of the office rock star look, he makes more on one CM than this guy makes in a year so the price was of no concern to Kame.

“ Yes, I am sure and cost is no issue.” Kame said with a smile.

“ Okay, here you go sir. Have a nice day.” He said as bowed Kame from his store as Kame makes his way back to Massu’s place.

“ Koki! I’m back!" He says..walking into their room hoping to find Koki but he wasn’t there. So he decides to see if Koki’s still with the children, on his way he runs into Ueda....

“ Hey Kame.” Ueda says.

“ Hey Tat-chan...um have you seen Koki?” Kame asked.

“ He was called into Massu’s office as we were coming back from the orphanage. Come to think of it..he should have been done by now.” Ueda replies.

“ Thanks, Tat-chan.” Kame says and walks off. He’s standing outside Massu’s office door when the sound of raised voices reach his ears and one of them was Koki’s. “ What’s Koki so angry about?” Kame thought as he opens the door and the scene in front of him wasn’t pleasant by any means..

“ I am not marrying...THAT!! Massu, you know I’m with Kame!” ” He shouts pointing to a woman Kame’s never met before.

“ I tried to tell her that but you know how hard headed she can be where you’re involved. I don’t want to see you break up with Kazuya..you know me better than that.” Massu reasons.

“ Hmph...that human. You know I’m better than him..especially for you. I won’t die on you either” she purrs as she leans in to kiss Koki..just as Koki pushes her away. None of them noticed Kame’s presence until....

“ Koki! How...” he starts but stops as the mysterious woman grabs an unexpected Koki and kisses him full on the mouth with Kame standing right there. Koki manages to push her off only to see Kame running as fast as possible from Massu’s office.

“ Kame...wait!” Koki calls but Kame doesn’t seem to hear him.

“ Humans...they never change.” she giggles as she tries to wrap her arms around Koki, but Massu pulls her off.

“ Go after him, Koki, I’ll take care of her.”

Koki nods to Massu and takes off after Kame.

Kame runs into their room and slams the door...hurt and confused, not to mention angry. Figuring that Kame headed back to their room, Koki tried to open the door but finds it locked.

“ Kame! Open up...its me!” he calls through the door.

“ Go away, Koki!” Kame yells from the other side and Koki’s pretty sure that Kame has tears in his eyes as well.

“ No, I’m not walking away..not like I did last time.” he tells Kame as he forces the door open.

“What the hell was that about, Koki?!”

“ Its not what you think, Kame. Its...”

“ Then what is it, Koki, cause from where I’m standing you were making out with someone who wasn’t me! What am I not good enough for you anymore?” Kame asks..feeling really hurt.

“ Of course you are, Kame. She caught me by surprise...I would never..”

“ Who in the hell is she anyway?” Kame cuts him off.

“ Remember that human I told you about that Jun took away from me?”

“ Yeah.” Kame says forgetting his anger for the moment as Koki gets closer.

“ That’s her. She still has feelings for me and I thought she had moved on and for the record, I didn’t enjoy that kiss either.” Koki says as puts his arms around his boyfriend. “ I don’t love her or anyone else who isn’t you, baby. You’re the only one that makes me feel complete, I love you and I only want to be with you. No one else will ever be able to do for me what you do, no one can light the fire in me that you do and that fire will burn for all eternity. I have lived for hundreds years Kazuya and you’re only person..human or other wise..that makes me feel this way, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything or anyone else in the world. I have no interest in her or anybody else and that’s the truth. That will never happen again, ok?” Koki finishes.

Thinking that he may have over reacted Kame turns to face his lover...

“ I am sorry, Koki, I got jealous and over reacted...its just that I may not survive this and I..” Koki silences him with a kiss, successfully shutting him up.

“ I know, Kame, you don’t need someone swooping and trying to steal me away from you especially since our time together is even more precious, right?”

Kame just nods and turns away from the gentle expression Koki’s now giving him.

“ Hey...look at me” Kame looks up. “ I will always be madly in love with you Kame, I love and want you and only you.” He says as he kisses Kame strongly and passionately, making Kame forget about Koki’s punishment from this morning as he’s pushing Koki backwards towards the bed. An hour later they are laying next to each other coming down from their high with satisfied smiles on their faces when Kame says...

“ I almost forgot, I bought you something on my way back...here..” he hands Koki his gift.

“ What is it?” Koki asks, trying to ruin his surprise just to annoy Kame.

“Just open it.” Kame laughs not letting Koki get away with trying to mess this up for him.

“ Wow....Kame. Its nice, I love it baby..thank you.” Koki says sincerely and kisses Kame lightly, while Kame helps him to put it on his wrist.

“ You’re welcome, now come on we have to get ready for that party.” Kame says, making his way to the bathroom.

No sooner does Kame climb in...does he find himself pinned to the chilly tile wall, giggling like a high school girl as Koki attacks his neck with his tongue and lips.

“ Not so fast..who said I was done.” Koki says an evil grin appears on his face.

“ You’re insatiable...you know that?” was all Kame could manage to say before Koki distracts him by pinching his left nipple as his tongue works on the other one. Koki spends the next two hours making them both happy..repeatedly until they both were satisfied and THEN they took a shower.

At the party...

“ Hey! The guests of honor finally decided to make an appearance!” Massu says as Koki and Kame finally walk into the ball room and take their places up at the high table along side Ueda.

“ Sorry we’re late..we were, um, trying to find some thing to wear.” Koki said, as Kame ducks his head to hide the blush that decided to betray him as Massu starts his long speech on how they owe their victory to the three sitting next to him, particularly the pendant bearers. While the others listened intently...Kame got bored and decided he would rather be teasing Koki under the table by running his boot slowly up Koki’s leg, first causing Koki to jump so high that he bumped the table..making Kame giggle and Massu smile at Kame’s ballsy behavior as Koki stuck his hand under said table to playfully swat his lover’s leg back down. Other than that nobody else seemed to care all that much..except Kusano that is. When Massu is finally done talking, he lets everyone enjoy themselves and mingle..human and vampyre alike.

“ I’m going to get some fresh air..now that sun has gone down low enough, so you can join me later.” Kame tells Koki as he pecks him on the cheek and walks outside. Kusano follows him...

“ I thought I warned you to show more respect in Massu’s company...human.” He said, making Kame jump about a foot in the air.

“ I wasn’t talking during his boring speech, was I?” Kame asked, slightly annoyed.

“ Then why were you and Koki playing around under the table?”

“ I was bored, besides Massu didn’t seem too put out by it nor did he seem to really care, so why do you? Whether or not I was being disrespectful is not your concern, that’s your leader’s business...remember?” Kame said being insolent on purpose.

“ Why you insolent little...” He growls as he tries to punch Kame. While Kame just lifts him off his feet and carries him inside and down the hall to where the party was going on and sends him flying through the heavy oak doors..landing with a thud at Massu’s feet.

“ Kame what in the world is going on?” Ueda asks.

“ He tried to hit me again even after Koki warned him not too.” Kame explains and walks away as Taipi runs to catch up.

“ Kame! Wait up!” Taipi calls making Kame stop while he runs to catch up.

“ Oh hey...Taipi. So what did you want to talk about?” Kame asked.

“ Um...well...I..was just wondering what it feels like having a vampyre drink from you? I noticed the marks, well everyone did and I guess I got curious.” He asks not sure whether or not he’s asking something too personal or not.

Kame thought for a minute before answering...

“Well, its kinda like being pricked by a pin. If, like me, you have a vampyre that’s really gentle it feels really good but if he or she is more...rougher than it tends to hurt more. Why? You looking to be the main course for one or something?” Kame teased, keeping his tone light and friendly.

“ No its just...how did you get Koki to fall in love with you? What I mean is how..did..?” he stops suddenly too flustered to finish. Realizing what Koki’s friend was getting at he said...

“ There’s a vampyre you like, huh? You want to know how to get him to notice you?” Kame asked as Taipi shook his head.

While Kame helps Taipi out with his problem, Koki and Ueda help Kusano out with his issue...

“ Hey Koki? Ueda? Can I ask you something? Oh and I’m sorry about earlier I will never lay another hand on Kazuya again..especially not after he did what did.” Kusano said, noticing the angry look in their eyes.

“ What did you want to ask?” Ueda said.

“ Well...how do you tell the person you like that you’re in love with them, especially if they are human and you don’t want to turn them like you did, Tatsuya.” He asked

“ Well, just coming right out and saying worked for me.” Ueda said referring to Junno. “ It also helps if you’re sure that the feelings are mutual. Humans are a species that can’t and won’t be forced, they don’t like being controlled without their consent or knowledge. Its still pretty much the same as it would be any other way. Mutual attraction and courage really are all you need.” He finishes.

“ What about you Koki?” Kusano asked turning to Kame’s lover.

“ Well, we both kinda fell for each other at the same time.” Koki said. “ We sorta met by accident one night as Kame just happen to walk into the very bar I was sitting in. While he was talking to the bar keep, I noticed these two drunks eyeing him and down. I ascertained that they were up to no good so I followed them out after they left right after Kame did. They decided to attack him and I’m pretty sure they would’ve have raped him had I not intervened and being as love struck as I was...” He just shrugs.

“ I take there’s a human you like?” Ueda asked, Kusano just nods.

“ Yeah, its Taipi.” he said, hoping that Koki wouldn’t deck him.

“ Then go after him then, just remember too let your heart dictate your actions. But if you’re too rough with him and he doesn’t like it or if you hurt him...I will kill you.” Koki threatens but smiles approvingly anyway as Kame and Taipi come back inside.

“ Kusano? Can we..can we go out in the garden? There’s something I want to talk to you about.” Taipi says.

“ Sure, Taipi. I want to talk as well.” Kusano takes his hand and leads him to the garden, while the other three smile.

“ They’ll be good for each other won’t they. Taipi can teach Kusano to be gentler, especially to the children in Massu’s care.” Koki comments as wraps his arm around Kame’s waist.

“Yeah and Kusano can teach Taipi to be brave, instead of being all the time.” Kame said as Ueda shook his head agreement.

A few hours later Kame, Koki and Ueda say good bye to Massu and his covent and head back to Tokyo where Maru has a little, not so pleasant, surprise in store for Kame upon his return.
