As Kame, Koki, Ueda were heading to the car, Jin and Ryo coming running over after spotting them on the street during their patrol....





“ Kame...Koki!! I’m glad we ran into you two.”  Ryo panted trying to catch his breath.




“ What’s wrong?”  Ueda asked.




“ Its Maru, he wants to see you, alone in your apartment. We told him that you were on your way out of town and that you didn’t have the time..but he...he’s changed completely Kame.” Jin pressed out while trying to catch his own breath.




“ Yeah, we can no longer get through to him and now both you and Koki are at the top of his hit list. Kame, you’re on there for your pedant and hiding his enemies and Koki’s on there for...*Jin sighs*...not only his pendant but for...”




“ For what, JIn?”  Kame asks, feeling his temper rise.




“ For something that your’s and his ancestors done to his family centuries ago. From the little he was willingly to tell us...Koki’s ancestors promised the Nakamaru family that their future children will one day marry and that the pendants would be considered symbols of their unity. But when every male member of Koki’s line became vampyres the deal was broken off, and the Red pendant was never passed on. So after it was found out that the Kamenashi line got a hold of it...Maru feels that he’s been wrong footed this whole time. He has always known what the pendants are capable of doing, it was the very reason he kept those pages from you, Kame..and this one as well..-he hands Kame the missing link to the prophecy-.  He never wanted you to find any of this out. All he wants to do his gain those pendants, which I would wager the power of either one alone is enough to kill him....and..”  Jin couldn’t finish.




“ He plans on taking Koki from you, Kame. Its in his head that he’s the rightful bearer and that he and Koki, yes Koki he knows about the two of you, are supposed to be together for eternity.”  Ryo finishes.





“ That is so never going to happen.”  Koki says and wraps his arms tightly around Kame’s waist. “ I’ll walk out into the sun and end my life before leaving Kazuya for him.”  Koki says distastefully.




“ The sun part of that comment was no where near funny, Koki.”  Kame said annoyed as he smacks Koki’s arm.




“ Sorry, baby, but its true.” Koki replies.




“ Look, I can’t meet with him tonight. Tell Maru that I will meet up with him when I get back and tell him that if he doesn’t like it then..oh well..he’s not going to dictate my life.” 




“ Okay, Kame, we’ll tell him. See you when you get back.”  Jin says.




“ I’ll text you with the time of the meeting.” Ryo offers.




“ Okay.”  Kame says as the they climb into Kame’s car and head south.





“ Why can’t that guy just leave us alone!”  Kame shouts, slamming his fist on the driver’s side door.




“ Easy, Kazu. Just forget about him for the time being, we need to work out what we’re going to do and how.”  Ueda said.





“ So, did he happen to tell either of you what it is, exactly, that we’re supposed to straighten out down there?”  Kame asked as Koki whispered something in his ear as he nodded in agreement. Two seconds later he felt a set of fangs gently puncture his neck as he lets out a soft but happy moan.





“ He didn’t say anything to me. You, Koki? Koki?”  That’s when he noticed what Koki was doing. “ As much as I hate to disturb you when you’re drinking and marking your territory, Koki, but...”





After letting Kame go and licking the small amount of blood left on his neck, he says...




“ All I know is what he told us when he came by that night to check on Kame after Nino tried to play with him, other than that..not a thing.”






Back in Tokyo:





“ Why did you let them get away?!”  Maru shouts.




“ Because its Kame’s life and I’m going to let what happen to Jin, happen to Kame!” Ryo shouts back.




“ I thought you guys understood what happened to me and my family? Why do you think I kept that stuff from him? Now they both will pay for what you guys did!”  Maru says as he punches Ryo in the face, then he starts searching for something in his desk drawer...




“ They’re not in there, Maru, not anymore.” Jin says.





“WHAT?!” 




“ We gave them to Kame...ALL of them. As fast as Kame can translate that stuff I’m pretty sure he knows how to work both pendants. He’s the rightful owner and you kept things from him that are very important to, not just this so-called war, but to his future with his partner as well. You all but destroyed my relationship with Tomo, I couldn’t sit back and allow the same thing to happen again.”  Jin retorts.




“ Why you....”  Maru advances towards Jin, crossbow aloft and pointed at his heart. “ You miss him that badly then maybe you should join him then.” he threatens, his finger poised over the trigger.




“ Maru, you’re crazy...don’t do it. See, this why those pendants aren’t meant for you to have. Just being around them for as long as you were turned you into a complete stranger.” Ryo tries to reason.




“ I wouldn’t do that if I were, Nakamaru..”  Yamapi said as both Jin and Ryo turned towards the open patio door, as Tomo walks over and breaks the crossbow in half so his human lover won’t have to feel what he did that night.




“ Tomo...” Jin said but Pi hushed him as he wasn’t done talking.




“ Listen to them, Nakamaru, I have seen Kame’s pendant in action..seeing as I just happen to walk into my meeting just as he was making a point to someone who has been bugging him for quite some time now. I know he’s aware that he’s only used a tenth of what that thing is capable of. Given what Kame said his and my friend’s pendants can do...Koki’s pendant alone is too powerful for you to control and Kame’s more so.” Pi finishes.




“ I thought I told you to kill him, Jin.” Maru said. “ Why is he still alive?”




“ Because he didn’t do it properly, he didn’t want to kill me. He loves me too much and I love him, so I harbor no ill feelings towards him for what you made him do. But you’re lucky you are his friend or I would kill you.” Pi said, his eyes were as cold as icy steel. “ Which is the only reason as to why my friends and leader haven’t killed you yet, because despite what you’re doing and what you plan to do....Kame still sees you as his friend.”





“ I will have what’s rightfully mine...Kame’s necklace and his boyfriend!”  Maru says and storms out into the night.





“ You don’t think...”





“ No, I don’t. Besides, even if he does some how manage to a hold of Kame’s necklace...he won’t be able to control Koki..his heart is too strong and since he’s been with Kame its even stronger. I read the last page to the prophecy...it was sitting on Koki’s desk...if anyone can put an end to this and save everyone involved...its those two, especially your young friend. But it will cost him his life and should Koki be too far away or whatever...then not even Koki’s blood can bring him back. I’m sure they’re both aware of this and Kame will give his life to save Koki and vice versa.”  Pi explains.





“ Man, Kame’s finally happy and now his and Koki’s world is about to be ripped asunder and there’s nothing we can do but sit back and watch.”  Jin said.




“ I know what you mean, Koki is the same way. I haven’t seen him this happy in over three hundred years and from what Ueda says, they live one for the other on daily basis. He’s also broken the very same rule I did...only difference is, is that when I did it Jun wasn’t in power at the time, so I couldn’t escape unpunished.” Pi said wrapping his arms around Jin for the first time in seven years.




“ You mean the rule about how once you sleep with a human, you have to turn them?” Ryo asked.



“ Yeah, that idiotic rule.” Jin answered as he felt Pi nuzzle his neck.




“ I better get going, darling, I have to head East and eradicate the threat against the humans there. They won’t listen and they refuse to live in harmony with them...I’m just glad I didn’t get stuck with the Southern territory..” He shudders slightly.





“ Are you...?”  Jin stopped short as Pi’s soft lips came down gently on his mouth, effectively shutting him up.




“ Yes, this time I will be coming back to you. I think I should start taking Koki’s and Kame’s advice before it may be too late.” he said with a wink.



“ Okay, be careful out there and would you mind...” he pulls back his shoulder length hair, exposing his neck to Tomo who smiled and leaned down to drink from Jin.





“ I forgot how good you taste, my darling.” he says after he licks the wound clean and wipes his mouth. “ Remind me to do it properly when this is over with.” he said and with one last kiss he was gone.




Ryo turns to Jin and says...




“ So all we can do is just watch things as they unfold. I Can’t believe that Maru’s ancestors started this in the first, all because Koki’s line realized that their lust for power could destroy everything we hold dear.” 




“ Yeah I know. If what Tomo says is true then its no wonder that those pendants are meant for certain people. I don’t even want to think about what Koki would do should Kame not survive, not even as a vampyre.”







Down South:



“ Man, what in the name of the celestial moon cycle happened here?”  Kame asks as they pass a field littered with nothing but human corpses.




“ That’s a good question.” Ueda said.




“ Look, they have marks on their necks.” Koki said as he examined the closest to his right foot.




“ We were attacked in the middle of the night.” A voice spoke from somewhere near Kame’s left, making the trio turn abruptly.



“ Who’s there?”  Koki called.



“ Its me, Koki. You remember me don’t you?”   Taipi said as stepped from the shadows followed closely by Kusano.




Koki’s recollection catching up with his senses, Koki asks...



“ So attacked you? It couldn’t have been the Osaka bunch since they feel the way we do.” 




“ No, it was the Okinawa covent. They joined with that group from the East, it was them that came after both sides. We lost more than our vampyre counter parts, but they still are losing their numbers as well.”  Kusano says as they take them to see their leader Massu.





As the Trio walk into Massu’s compound, they’re immediately bombarded with pleas and cries for help..all coming from the women of course and they still don’t know what they’re supposed to do.



“ Well, that really clears things up..lovely explanation.” Kame said annoyed and sounding disrespectful on purpose.




“ Watch your tone, human..” Kusano warned and made move to slap Kame. But was blocked by an invisible force.




“ Try and hit my human again, Kusano, and he will do more than shield himself.” Koki said. “ You can drop the shield, Kame, he won’t try that again.”  He tells his partner.



“ But how did he...”To say that Taipi was surprised would be the understatement of the year.




“ He wears the Red Pendant, what’s why.” Massu said as he walks out of his library. “ Not to mention he’s also been marked more than once so I would advise you to listen to Koki when he gives a warning.”  He said, noticing the teeth marks on Kame’s neck that koki had put there not more than fifteen minutes ago, turning to face the new comers Massu says...







“ Nice catch Koki.”  He gives Kame an appraising look, while Koki just smiles. “ The answer to your question from earlier is that you were sent here to help us defeat our own kind.  They are too strong for us and we’re having a difficult time protecting the humans. Oh and I have some blood I want to delivered back to Jun.” He answered as he led them to their sleeping quarters for the night.






“ I’m so tired, I could sleep for a week or more.”  Kame whined as he crawled into bed and slipped under the covers.




“ Yeah, I know what you mean Kame.” Koki agreed, laying next to Kame and encircling Kame in his arms getting lost in his thoughts.



“ Ki...Koki!...Koki!...” Kame called sitting up as Koki didn’t seem to hear him.




“ Uh” Wha..?”  Koki said as he disconnected his thought train.




“ I’ve been trying to get your attention for the....” He starts but then he notices the pain in Koki’s gaze as he looks back at Kame. “ Something is bothering you...why won’t you tell me about?”  Kame asked as Koki sat up and leaned against the head board.





“ Its just this whole prophecy thing scares me, Kazuya.”  




“ Why?” Kame asks as he lightly brushes his fingers across Koki’s jaw.



“ Its just that...”



“ Just...what? Come on my dark prince...out with it.”  Kame urged.



“ I get the feeling that the outcome will be very different from what we’re hoping for, Love, and I don’t want you too...”  Koki stopped short and just laid back down with his back to Kame. Kame lays back down wraps his arm around Koki’s waist, not knowing what he could say to put Koki at ease he just tightens his hold as he whispers....




“ Do you honestly not regret falling for me, Koki? Knowing what we know now and that there’s high possibility that I won’t survive this.”  Fighting to hold back his tears...afraid of Koki’s answer. Turning over he wipes the moisture from his lover’s eyes and says...




“ I have never regretted a minute of my time spent with you nor my feelings for you. You saved me Kame and even if I could, I wouldn’t to go back in time to that night, to that place and make the choice to never see you again..my heart wouldn’t be able to endure it. I love you Kazuya and only you. Even if I lose you there will never be anyone else worthy enough to have my heart and share my bed. Even in the next life I will forever belong solely to you and I’m forever your property, now stop fretting over that alright?”  Koki spoke with so much sincerity and so much honesty that Kame was at a complete loss for words and could only nod as he laid there gazing into those tender hazel eyes.



Smiling Koki leans in an captures Kame’s lips, Kame responds by biting Koki’s bottom lip asking for entrance...as soon as Koki obliges he feels Kame’s tongue enter and deepen the kiss. It wasn’t long before the sounds of sex filled the room as Koki made love to Kame like never before. After a mind blowing two hours, they lay completely entangled in each other and fall asleep with satiated grins and spent bodies.
