Title: Baby B My Valentine

Summary: Koki's tired of Kame being miserable on Valentine's Day, so he does something about it
A/n: Its Valentine's Day and I felt like writing something fluffy for a change
It was Valentine’s Day, a day that Kame didn’t technically despise, but it was a day that he really could care less about. Its not that he never got anything on this day, he did. Hell he got a lot of crap on Valentine’s Day and when he did accept an offer to go on a date it was always what the other person wanted to do. Since they were girls, he didn’t think it was very gentlemanly to complain, even when he was expected to pay for something that he never planned. He was tired of it and he complained about it as much to his best friend/room mate Koki Tanaka.
“ Why do you even put up with this Kazu? You clearly hate it.” He said opening the twentieth envelope with a heart sticker on it.
“ I don’t know, probably because it keeps me from being alone on this day.” he shrugs. “ What about you, Koki? Why don’t accept an offer from your own pile for a change? It beats being by one’s self.” Kame asks seeing Koki’s own pile of offers on the other side of the table.
“ Nah....if I can’t spend Valentine’s Day with the person I want to spend it with, what’s the point.” he reasons.
They change their clothes and head off to work, Koki was a video game designer while Kame worked in the sales department of the game company they both were employed at. Very few people knew that they secretly liked each other...alot. Koki was on his lunch break when his friend Maru sat down next to him.
“ Koki, if you tired of watching Kame put himself through hell every Valentine’s Day....then why don’t you do something about it? You care about him, you’ve been in love with him since I have known the two of you. I know he likes you too, if he’s too shy then you make the first move.” he whispers as Kame walks by with the woman he’s helping to push their new game.
Koki thinks for a second and pulls out his notebook, turning to an empty page he writes a note to Kame telling him that to write the three things he’s always wanted to do for Valentine’s Day. When he’s done he hands it to Maru and tells him to give it to Kame’s presentation partner Becky, so she can give it to Kame. Twenty minutes later, Maru’s coming back with Kame’s answer. Smiling Koki shows Maru and slips it in his pocket and goes back to work, luckily Kame texted him saying that he was going to be a little late.
Koki gets home around six and starts cooking Kame’s favorite italian meal. While he’s waiting for dinner to get done, he sets up the table with candles and with two roses in vase in the center. He puts on some romantic music and after placing the salad on the table he pulls their food out of the oven. No sooner does he get done plating the food, does he hear Kame’s key in the door. After leaving a small note on the table he hides himself in the kitchen.
“ What the...?” Kame walks over and picks up the note and reads: ‘ From someone whose thinking of your needs for a change’, “ Koki! Do you....”
“ You like it?” Koki asks, pouring wine into their glasses. “ It hurt too much to see you miserable on a day that you always loved, so I decided to do something about it.”
“ You mean...you were the one who sent me that note today at work?” Koki nods, helping Kame with his chair.
“ Yes, it was me. I wanted you to spend this night the way you want to for once.”
“ Thanks Koki.” Kame says as they start eating, Koki stealing glances in Kame’s direction only to catch his friend watching him as well. Smiling Koki returns to his plate.
After dinner Koki clears the plates and tells Kame to go sit on the couch, he does and Koki joins him a few minutes later. Turning on the tv, Kame’s mouth falls open when his favorite movie starts playing, Titanic. Koki chose this not only because Kame loves it so much, but because its one of the few romantic movies that he can sit through without falling asleep.
“ But I thought you hated these types of...” Kame starts but Koki’s finger cuts him off.
“ Shh...the movie’s starting.” Koki says pulling Kame back against the couch.
Midway through the movie Kame looks up, from where he was laying against Koki’s side, and stares at his friend. ‘ could he really feel the same way’ he thinks. Two hours later Koki turns the tv off when the credits start to roll and goes out their door and makes his way up to the roof top of their apartment building. Curious, Kame follows him. He walks out and stands in the middle of the roof top with his friend. It was a clear night so there was no chance that the weather could ruin this for Koki.
“ Koki, what are we doing up here?” Kame asks as Koki checks his watch.
“ Just watch the sky.” was all he got out of him.
Doing as he’s told, Kame looks up just in time to see fire works go off. When the smoke clears he reads ‘ Baby B My Valentine from Koki’ and sees Koki watching him for a reaction. Feeling his eyes get moist he drops his gaze to his best friend.
“ I would love to, Koki.” he says smiling.
“ I love you Kazuya, I always have. I finally got to spend this special day with the only person I ever wanted to be with ever since we were kids...you.”
“ Oh Koki...I love you too.” Kame says as Koki closes the gap between them, finally kissing the lips that have haunted his dreams.
A few hours later they’re laying in Koki’s airport sized bed, panting and sweaty from Kame showing Koki just how much he enjoyed tonight.
“ I loved tonight, it was the best Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had Koki. I love you so much, Thank you.” he says laying his head on Koki’s shoulder.
“ You’re welcome Angel. I love you too.” he kisses the top of his younger lover’s head as they both sail off into dream land.
