Title: Sometimes Dreams Do Come True

Summary: Kame's dream was to stay in one place permanently..will his dream ever come true.
A/N: I shortened the tag for this fic as it slightly long.
The holidays came and went, and Kame was still living with Koki. For most couples it would be considered a happy arrangement, but for Koki and Kame its nothing short of bitter sweet knowing that they have to say good bye in a few days. Kame was hoping to celebrate his birthday with Koki this year but since that’s the day they are leaving for London, all he can do is continue to dream.
Kame was doing his home work when his vision goes black, he freaks out for a second until he recognizes the familiar warmth of Koki’s fingers and he smiles before reaching around to tickle his lover’s side.
“ Hey baby. How goes the report?”
“ I’m almost finished.” Kame answers as Koki sets his tea down and takes the seat next to him, having finished his two hours ago. “ Though I would’ve been done a long time ago had you not wanted to take a two hour study break in the shower.” he quips shoving Koki in vengeance.
“ Oh come on, Kazuya, its not like you didn’t enjoy it and I didn’t hear you complaining about it either.” He grins back.
“ Well its hard to complain when you’re pinned to the shower wall and have someone’s tongue down your throat for the better part of an hour,then losing all capability to formulate anything other than “oh Koki”, “harder” and “ oh god faster”...now isn’t it?” he says putting the finishing touches on his psychology paper.
“ How would I know, I’m always on top remember?”
“ We’re going to have to fix that one of these days, Koki.” Kame says just as their take-out shows up, while Koki just smiles. Normally Koki wouldn’t even consider switching places and allowing someone to top him, but Kame was different, everything was different since he’s met Kame. As long as its Kazu he doesn’t particularly mind being the yuki for a change.
“ I know.”
They sit down to eat only to be interrupted by the door bell, groaning Koki gets up to see who it is. He’s shocked when he sees Tomo standing on his front porch looking like a kicked puppy or worse...a lost one. He opens the door as the rain that has been threatening to fall all day finally does, luckily Koki’s front porch has a roof on it.
Slightly annoyed Koki asks him what he wants, “ Why are you here? Haven’t you guys caused enough trouble.”
“ I just stopped by to apologize to Kazuya for what happened and I...” He’s cut off when Kame comes over to see what’s taking Koki so long to come back.
“ Koki what’s...?” then he sees Tomo. “ What do you want?” he asks just as annoyed as his partner.
“ I’m sorry Kazuya for everything, the threats, the taunts and for the stupid game...all of it. We shouldn’t have put you or anyone else through that, it wasn’t right and we never thought about the possible consequences of our actions.” he says as his eyes show them that he’s not fooling around.
“ What’s with the change in attitude? If you’re just saying this to...”
“ He’s serious Koki. But what’s wrong, you look like your world just came crashing down.” Kame ask as he motions for Tomo sit on the futon that Koki keeps there just to have somewhere to sit that’s comfortable.
“ Well, remember when you told Ryo that my cousin would give him what he wanted from you? He took you up on that offer and not only did he discover his hidden feelings for her..he wound up by getting her pregnant as well. As I watch her belly grow and Ryo having to get a part time job, I realized right then and there, that what we were doing had its consequences. I want to go to Uni after graduation and, Ryo did too but I doubt very much if he can now, I noticed just how lucky I was and I...the day that Ryo tried to literally rape you, well let’s just say I almost found out how what you went through after I got arrested for driving drunk. You don’t have to believe me nor do I really expect you to forgive me, I just wanted to apologize.” He stands up to leave, “ well, I’ll leave now. Karma’s a real bitch huh?” he finishes with a grim laugh.
“ Kame?” Koki just looks at his lover.
“ Tomo..maybe we can be friends some day.” He says with a smile, while Pi just nods and pulls out of Koki’s drive way.
“ I’m not saying what they did was right but I do believe he’s genuinely sorry. I forgave him, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten what they put me through. Now come on...our food’s getting cold.” Kame says and goes back in the house with Koki right behind him.
“ Not very many people could do what you did, love.” he pulls Kame closer to him while they eat.
“ Yeah but I’m not most people and besides my life is difficult enough as it is...I really don’t need karma coming after me.” as they go back to watching tv.
Koki doesn’t realize that Kame fell asleep with his head in Koki’s lap until he tries to get up, causing Kame to open his eyes.
“ I’m sorry, I didn’t know you fell asleep.” Koki chuckles.
“ Its okay, baby.” he says stifling a huge yawn, “ the rain makes me sleepy...always has.” he stretches and then stands pulling Koki to his feet and closer to his body.
“I’m bored, Koki.” he nips at Koki’s ear.
Grinning Koki says, “ First one upstairs gets to top.”
“ You’re on” Kame takes up Koki’s challenge since it doesn’t really matter which one won..they both wound up getting the same prize anyway.
“You let me win...didn’t you, Koki?”
“ Maybe. Even if I didn’t...I still would’ve let you top anyway.” he says with a satisfied grin.
“ I love you Koki.” he says with a chuckle.
“ I love you too.”
After cleaning up they crawl back into bed and drift off to sleep dreading having to say good-bye, for who knows how long, in a couple of days.
Two days later:
Kame wakes up to his phone going off, causing the lump under the covers to shift as he crawls out from under the blanket and his boyfriend to reach for his phone. After pulling himself out far enough to where the blanket just covered his ass, he flips his phone open.
“ Hello? Oh hey dad, yeah I know. I’ll meet you at the house. Bye.”
“ Who was that Angel?” Koki says as he lays his body back on top of Kame’s after he was comfortable.
“ It was my dad...he wants us to meet him at the house in a few minutes. Dammit!! Why can’t I just stay here while they go to London? Its not fair, Koki...its just not fair!” he says into his pillow.
“ I know, baby. I don’t want you to go either.” Koki says, tightening his grip on the younger guy beneath him. “ We don’t have a choice. Now come on, lets just get this over with. The longer we put it off the harder its going to be.”
Kame just nods and starts getting dressed once Koki rolled off of him. They pull up to the now vacant house an hour later and what they see confuses them both. Instead of Kame’s parents and little brother, all they see is the rest of Kame’s stuff that was left behind in his old room.
“ What’s going on? Why is all my stuff here?”
“ Hey Kame, I found this sticking out of one of the boxes.” he hands the letter to Kame.
Kame opens the letter and what he reads causes him to almost fall over. Koki grabs him just as his knees give way, he pulls Kame up and leads him over to sit on the steps leading up to the big house.
“ What’s wrong Kame?” he asks concerned.
Kame just reads the letter his parents left him out loud to Koki as a response...
“ Dear Kame,
You’re no longer a child, you’re almost a man now and I’m proud of you for putting up with the constant moving around having to say good bye to so many people without complaining or showing your anger. Yes, son, I knew you hated it and I knew you were angry. When we came back to Tokyo, I had hoped that we would get to stay but as you know that didn’t happen. After you met Koki and I saw the love and bond that developed between you two, it reminded me of me and your mother when we were that age. As the time passed I came to realize that if I ever wanted my sons to realize their own dreams that I would have to change jobs at some point or take a demotion and a pay cut by telling my boss that I wasn’t going to keep doing things this way and constantly uprooting my family. To that end, since I couldn’t do either of those things I came up with a better idea and its mine and your mother’s birthday gift to you from us. The reason I asked Koki if you could stay with him is because I decided to let you stay in Tokyo with Koki and your friends.
I knew that if I ever wanted you and your brother to be able to realize your dreams then you both would have to stay in one place. I knew that if I forced you to come with us Kame, that you would’ve just gone running back to him at the first opportunity...like I did with your mother. Now, Ryu is going to stay with your brother, Koichi now that he’s moved back to the city and you get to stay with Koki. Happy Birthday Kame and we will try our hardest to make it back in time for your graduation next year, if I can’t come then your mother will definitely show up to support you for the both of us. Have a nice life son, don’t forget to call and write sometimes to let us know what you’re up to. I love you son.”

P.S. Tell Koki that if he hurts you or mistreats you in anyway that I will personally come back and kick his ass for failing to watch over you properly.”
“ Does this mean...Do you really get to stay?” Koki asked hoping it was true but still not daring to believe what he heard.
“I don’t..I don’t know, Koki. I...” He’s interrupted by his phone..its his dad.
“ Hello.”, Kame says as he walks away from Koki, “ Is this letter for real? Ryu and I don’t have to move around anymore?” Kame asks not bothering to hide the hopeful annotations in his voice.
Hahaha...yes son, its true...all of it. I got the idea right after my boss said that I had to move to London, after seeing you two together and how much you guys reminded me of my past, I couldn’t bring myself to separate you from Koki. All I ask is that you still watch out for Ryu and continue to be there for him.”
“ Thank dad. I will don’t worry, well I have to go now. Let me know how things go in London and take care of yourself and mom, and tell mom to try not worry so much that me and Ryu will be just fine.” After telling his dad that he loves him and that he’ll do his best to get into Uni, he disconnects the line.
“ Well Kame?!” Koki calls from the front porch.
“ Yes, Koki...its true! Every last word of it that letter is true...I don’t have to leave!” Kame shouts as he runs right into Koki’s arms, hugging the very life out of his boyfriend.
“ That’s wonderful Kazu..I’m glad you get to stay.” Koki said.
They just stand there in the middle of the drive way, just hugging each other. After a twenty minutes Koki pulls back slightly and says..
“ Let’s get this stuff back to our house and we can find a place for later, okay?”
“ Alright, let’s go.” Kame agrees.
On the way he calls Ueda and tells him the good news. He tells Kame that he’ll call Junno and Maru to let them know and to call him back later when him and Koki are ready to celebrate with the three of them, he says that he will and hangs up. After lugging the rest of Kame’s stuff upstairs, Koki tackles his lover on the bed and starts kissing him for all he’s worth. They don’t get out of bed for the next three hours..well until neither one could no longer ignore the loud protests coming from their stomaches.
Koki calls Ueda and tells them to meet up at a local Italian place that’s near by. Ueda agrees and calls Junno and Maru to tell them the meeting place. No sooner does Kame get out of the car he’s hugged by six pairs of arms all at once. Its only when Maru’s telling the others about the latest stunt his dog pulled this morning that he realizes that without noticing and without meaning too, he had made three new very good friends when he met Koki and he couldn’t be happier. After dinner the five of them go their separate ways with Koki and Kame heading to their house to finish their own version of a celebration.
Its only after Kame comes down from seeing starts and his high that everything sinks in, even though he still can’t believe it. Its only when Koki says his name that he comes out of his reverie.
“ I’m so happy you get to stay here with me Kazuya, now I won’t be so lonely here in this big house any more. Now I can dream about staying with you forever without making you feel guilty.” He hugs Kame closer to his body and sighs contentedly.
“ I know, Koki. I was never a great believer in dreams especially after we started moving from place to place.” he remarks with the same contented sigh.
“ And now Kame?”
“ And now I can believe that sometimes dreams do come true after all, I love you so much Koki.”
“ I love you a lot too Kame, good night.”
Kame never answered since he fell asleep before he could. After placing a kiss on the top of Kame’s head, Koki slips into dreamland right along with his lover. Both of them being able to sleep soundly knowing that from here on out Kame doesn’t have to leave, that his dream of being able to stay with the man of his dreams has finally come true.
